Parents

“It made my daughter think more about what she is putting in her body and how that may relate to her energy level at dance classes”.

“Thanks again for the program!”
Phil – Warrior Dad

“The recipes were great! The Challenge makes everyone in the family think about our food choices.”
Christine – Warrior Mom

“It’s been a good experience to promote awareness of what the girls are putting into their body. It’s also promoted my daughter to think twice about eating something or question whether its actually worthy of a point category. She is making the connection with food and energy! When she feels sluggish, she can look at her chart and see what she ate or should have eaten that day.
Thanks for all your work towards the program and taking a step to get kids more accountable to eating healthy. Thanks again for the program!”
Cara – Warrior Mom

“Have to tell you that Warrior UP To Win is really starting to resonate with my daughter! She worked hard to get all her daily points in each day! She happily read labels and is an expert on sodium and sugar! She also made her own smoothies and added “green stuff”. Water, water, water, easy points, but surprisingly not that easy to get! She chugged a few glasses at the end of the day to max her points! Plus now she can make her own smoothies and she is adding greens to them!”
Lori – Warrior Mom

“I like the program and I think it’s changing the girls thinking about what snacks they are picking to eat. They are growing up in a very packaged and processed environment and having them choose some fruit over easily grabbing a packaged granola bar is a win for me. I believe the goal for this program is to take this info and keep it fun and easy and realistic and you have done that!”
Mary Jane – Warrior Mom

“My son is only eating 3-4 wieners a month – he used to try to eat this many per day!”
Jody – Warrior Mom

“We are on our last day!!!! My daughter has managed to squeak out at least 100 points per week. Very proud of her. Last night we went to the mall, and she wanted to eat somewhere healthy to collect points. She is reading labels everyday. She has definitely developed some very healthy habits!”
Laurie – Warrior Mom

Coaches

“The kids are taking a more active role in choosing their foods and they know how to read a label and what to look for. Plus the whole team is drinking a lot more water as they understand why they need to hydrate as athletes. (The”Drink UP” lesson drives the hydrate message home in a funny way and it stuck for the kids!)”
Coach Teri

[Coaching Staff letter]
“Dear Warrior Kelly, Warrior Ben and the rest of the Warrior Up to Win crew,

Thank you for letting our Jr Inferno team be the first to test out the Warrior Up to Win Challenge! We had a lot of fun with it and learned a lot of new information.

In both Level One and Two, the videos were done up to be “short and sweet” so the kids didn’t mind watching them and they weren’t a huge time commitment at home plus, the messages were simple to grasp. The tracker was easy to fill out once we laid out the rules to our team challenge as Level One was an individual point system with Level Two was a team challenge for points.

From a coaching perspective, it has been nice to see the girls take on some personal responsibilities to be sure they have their water bottles ready for game and practice times. Also, they would come in the dressing room with better choice snacks and during Level One, you could always find a few smoothie containers around (smoothie was listed on the tracker sheet for that level and seemed to be a favorite for many).

As parents, we found the Warrior Up to Win Challenge to be encouraging as it’s not a diet program but a healthy choice/awareness program. It reinforces the need to eat food to fuel your body and active kids need the right food to keep their energy up. Your program reinforces what we are trying to teach our kids and our kids love us but who is kidding who, they also tune their parents out as well so to have another voice give the same message is fantastic… Drink your water (which as adults we can always use a reminder too), eat a proper snack (one that will fuel your activity level), choose healthy meals and try new foods.

Thanks for your time with this. We all learned that healthy food can be tasty and fun!! We would like to wish you luck as you open this program up to the rest of the world.

Eat the food, check the box, get your points!!”

Kids

“My favorite part of the videos is when Warrior Ben goes crazy and I like the lady with that green hair too! I drink a lot of water now every day and especially before my game or practices! I still don’t like green things but I put them in my smoothies now….just a little.”
