Figure Skating

Figure Skater – Merriam Aazami
Scottsdale, AZ, USA
Hello I’m Merriam Aazami and I am a figure skater and ice dancer. I LOVE skating. It is an amazing feeling when I step on the ice …I feel alive, my creativity side comes out and it helps me express who I am.

I have been figure skating since I was four years old. I am a 3x U.S. Figure Skating Gold Medalist and I am currently training in Scottsdale, Arizona, with the goal to represent Team Great Britain in the Olympics.

My Grandfather was an Olympic Diver…. and he has high hopes for me. I grew up hearing the stories of his journey to the Olympics and it inspires me. I relate his struggles and triumphs to my own training. I want to make him, myself and my family proud and keep working harder to accomplish my goals.

Speaking of working harder. In order to do this, I know I have to EAT SMART …. Which is why I love the Warrior Up To Win Program. I am honored to be an Ambassador! It allows me to fulfill on my passion to help younger skaters know the importance of eating healthy and how it impacts their performance on the ice and at school.

I encourage all Figure Skaters to do this Program and have fun learning new habits with Warrior Ben!

Baseball

Coach – Rich Barker
Former Chicago Cubs Pitcher,  LA Angel’s Scout Team Coach & Little League President
Scottsdale, AZ, USA
Rich Barker is a former Major League Pitcher with the Chicago Cubs. A true competitor, Rich struggled with proper nutrition early in his career. He feels if he knew what he does today about the importance of nutrition and how to feed your body, he would have been better off.

Coach Barker tells player, “If you don’t have the proper nutrition and stay hydrated, you’re not going to play at your peak level.”

As a Coach he has seen kids end-up in the hospital after a game due to improper, pre-game hydration and meals. He is a fan of Warrior UP To Win for this reason.

He says about kids taking on Warrior Up: “They’re going to notice how they’re consistently performing after a few weeks and the’re going to want to build that habit because now they can play at a higher level.”
